The West Tennessee Historical Society welcomes all membership applications. We also welcome visitors and non-members to participate actively at our meetings and events. Historically, we have averaged between 450 and 600 members, but we lost members – and officers – during the COVID-19 pandemic. We need YOU to help us reach and surpass, our pre-pandemic numbers – so join today, and invite a friend!

Membership Benefits:

  • a copy of the annual West Tennessee Historical Society Papers
  • electronic newsletters with Society news and historical events around the region
  • a copy of the annual WTHS Papers
  • full voting rights in the affairs of the Society
  • opportunities to serve on the Board of Directors
  • a forum for publishing and/or presenting research, reviews, and historical documents
  • assistance with projects, grants, publications and publicity
  • use of the Society’s historical collections

Membership categories:

  • Student (requires proof of current attendance at time of application and renewal) – $25.00 annually
  • Individual $35.00 annually
  • Family (includes spouses, parent and child(ren), or siblings) – $50.00 annually
  • Sustaining $75.00 annually
  • Patron $100.00 annually
  • Benefactor$250.00 annually
  • Life $500.00 one-time payment
  • Advocate$500.00 annually
  • Legacy $1,000 annually
  • Subscribing Institution (no voting privileges) – $50.00 annually
